This algorithm is intended to be used by the end user in order to compute the rooftops solar potential over a period of time or for the whole year. Using r.sun by <strong>GRASS<\/strong> (open source app), we managed to compile a script that allows for one area or each rooftop selected,\u00a0 to calculate the energy that can be produced by a solar panel mounted on that roof or roofs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The algorithm<\/strong> takes into account: city horizon, surrounding mountains, shadows from other buildings, reflected light, roof slopes and aspects, geographical location, average atmospheric turbidity, elevation, height of the building etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start date<\/strong>: 15.01.2012<\/p>\n<p><strong>End date<\/strong>: 15.06.2015<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duration<\/strong>: 42 months<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IndecoSoft completed the solar irradiation algorithm.
