IndecoSoft, represented by Mr.Iulian Furnea, participates in the conference "Evaluation of the Shadow Economy", an event organized by Ziarul Financiar and VISA.

The study commissioned by Visa Europe explores the structure and impact of the shadow economy and evaluates the role electronic payments can play to reduce it.

The most visible topic were:

•  The extent of the shadow economy in Romania, front ranking in Europe
•  Visa and banks aim at reducing Romania’s shadow economy by electronic  payment  systems

The findings of the research confirm there is a strong correlation between the prevalence of cash
payments in a country and its shadow economy.

Countries with minimal levels of electronic payments, such as Romania, have high shadow economy, contrary to countries with high levels of electronic payment usage, such as the United Kingdom and Austria.
